Jos Buttler was the star once again for the Rajasthan Royals with the bat in hand as he flayed his former teammates all around the park to give his side a fighting chance of making the playoffs. The hosts didn't do themselves any favours when they had their turn with the bat as they fell well short of where they were on course of getting. They needed the early wicket of Buttler if they were going to stand a chance of defending a modest total on a good pitch. Unfortunately that didn't happen and Buttler went through the gears as he powered his side home and in sight of the proverbial promised land.

Rahane: "A great win for us especially knowing that on this wicket they were 15-20 runs short. The way we bowled after six overs, four wickets in between 7-15 was crucial. Jofra's couple of wickets in that over changed the game. We bowled really well and we've been lacking that especially in the last three games. Even in batting we lost a couple of our wickets and didn't get that partnership but here did and credit must go to our bowlers."
Rohit: "On a pitch like that we should have got 15-20 runs more. That's something that has held us back a bit in the tournament and in a few games where we didn't finish really well. Today was another game that we didn't finish off well, after getting the start we got. But I don't want to be too harsh about the way we've been playing. We've been playing some good cricket so we just need to continue. There are some areas that we need to work on. That was missing today and games like this can happen."
