Qualifier 1, Chennai

So MI are the first team into Sunday's Final. They were excellent from start to finish, and CSK didn't really have an answer. As with all MS Dhoni teams, they didn't give in, but in the end, their Powerplay cost them with the bat, and they just couldn't find a way through Suryakumar Yadav. Thanks very much for your company in this match, and we'll see you tomorrow for a double header. In Finals week, I hear you cry?! Well join us tomorrow to find out how and why!

MoM: Suryakumar Yadav

Rohit: "It was a great effort and it's a great feeling to be knowing we will be in the final. Three good days to switch off - it's a much-need break for us. I knew we had the bowlers to restrict them and I had the confidence in the batters. It's important to restrict them to as low as possible, given the spin bowlers they have. Jayant was a call we had to make as they have quite a bit of right-handers. I thought a finger spinner would have been more useful on this pitch than a wris tspinner. MS was going to be crucial at the end too. We had plans and we were very clear. When you restrict a team like that to less than 140 plans have to fall in place. Suryakumar is one of our best batsmen against spin. We knew the spin threat will be a huge factor and I've seen Surya playing in close quarters in Mumbai and Mumbai Indians. You saw the shots behind the wicket on this spinning pitch. This was the perfect pitch for him. We have a balanced squad to beat CSK at home. When you come to a place like Chennai you need to know what you have to execute".

Dhoni: "Somebody has to lose. Rather than going over the wicket, we have to now go round the wicket. You need to know the pitch at home - whether it's tacky. That is something we didn't do well. The batting needs to do slightly better. The top order has been on and off. They're the best we've got. You have to bank on experience. They have to use that experience slightly more. Hopefully, we crack the code next game. Unfortunately, few catches dropped. But I feel we could have bowled better. You have to bowl slightly away from the batsmen here. Once you don't have enough runs, every boundary hurts you. After a good start with the ball, we kept giving boundaries. The good thing is you have another crack after a top-two finish."

Four! Scores level! Back of a length and he scoop ramps this over fine leg

18.2 D Chahar to S Yadav, FOUR.
18.1 D Chahar to H Pandya, one run.

A tidy over from Jadeja, but with just 6 to win with two overs to go, surely even CSK can't pull this out of the fire?

Close! Luck's in Suryakumar's favour tonight! Goes for the big shot but gets a toe ender on this. Faf runs in from long on but just can't quite get there

Timeout time. MI are almost in the Final. They've seen off Tahir and, despite losing two wickets to him, have the dangerous Hardik out there with the composed Suryakumar, plus Pollard still to come.

End of Over 16 - 8 runs MI 116/4
Hardik Pandya*5* (5b 1x4)

15.6 I Tahir to H Pandya, one run.

14.2 R Jadeja to S Yadav, no run, 86.92 km/h good length just outside off stump.

Four! Close! Oh, so nearly another! Genuine edge as Suryakumar pushes forward, but Watson cannot react in time and it just evades his left hand

14.1 R Jadeja to S Yadav, FOUR, 98.29 km/h good length on off stump.
End of Over 14 - 9 runs, 2 wickets MI 101/4
Suryakumar Yadav*53* (38b 8x4)

Wicket! Now then, what's happened here?! Has Tahir got two in two. Krunal pushes this back to him, but is it on the full or is it a bump ball? It's on the full! Tahir's on a hat-trick and CSK have an opening

13.6 I Tahir to K Pandya, WICKET!!! K Pandya is out c & b Imran Tahir, 85.77 km/h full length just outside off stump.

Wicket! You sensed this was coming. Kishan had been cramping up and was beaten by one which skids on. Crashes into off and is this perhaps a sniff for CSK

13.5 I Tahir to I Kishan, WICKET!!! I Kishan is out b Imran Tahir, 95.7 km/h short length on off stump.
